Upcoming Events:

JUN 17-22 - SYB Bronco All-Star Kickoff Tournament @ Simi Youth

JUN 26-JUL 3 - Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament

5/25/09: Cal Super Series did an outstanding job of pulling together 16 of the best 12U Major teams in So. California, Nor. California, and even Arizona's top team for a Memorial Day Super 16 Qualifier. At the end of Pool Play, the Predators earned the 5 seed with a 2-1 record, with wins agains the South Gate Democrats who ended the tournament in the final 4, Team Anderson (an Elite 32 Qualified team), and a dissapointing 1 run loss in the last inning to the Walnut Rebels. With pool play matching some of the top teams against one another, the first round matchup faced us against TABU from Nor. Cal. who were the 11 seed with a 0-1-2 in pool play against the toughest pool play draw in the tournament. TABU jumped ahead early and the Predators fought back to get as close as 7-5 but it ended as a 9-5 loss.

5/21/09: Simi Predators welcome back Lorenzo Perez (another Simi Youth player) to their 2009 roster to join us in our effort towards Cooperstown, NY. The addition of Zo gives us 2 strong catchers and another big bat in the order which will no doubt help in the summer heat of New York next month.

4/19/09: Simi Predators extend their 12U winning streak to 18 straight games by playing solid baseball all weekend. After 2 Saturday pool play games, the Predators earned the top seed going into Sunday. With temp's in the mid 90s and 3 straight games, it was a long day in the sun to win the championship. After trailing in all 3 Sunday games, the Predators bats came alive repeatedly, which led to 9 kids sharing duties on the mound and 4 of the 5 wins by run-rule including a 13-3 championship win.

3/14/09: A BIG THANK YOU to everyone for coming out to support our Poker Tournament fundraiser at Lost Canyons Golf Club which helps our kids get to Cooperstown Dreams Park in June this year to compete against 95 other 12U teams from around the country.

2/22/09: Simi Predators win 4 straight to capture the championship during the 7 team tourament at Simi Youth. Two games required the Predators to come back after falling behind early in the game. Excellent pitching and defense was seen throughout the tournament. A great all around team effort.

1/19/09: Simi Predators win 5 straight to capture the championship during the 12 team tourament at Mid Valley in Encino, CA.

1/1/09: Simi Predators welcome Kyle Ohanian to their 2009 roster. Kyle strengthens the pitching staff with yet another strong LHP.

9/8/08: Simi Predators won 4 consecutive games in their first tournament of the new year at the Simi Youth Labor Day tournament.

A first round loss to TABU (No. Cal), was followed by 2 impressive wins knocking out both the So. Cal Mavericks (CA) 7-6 and the Palmetto Flames (SC) 9-1. Then, after falling behind 6-1 against the Elite 24 defending Champions - Texas Rattlers (TX), the Predators mounted a late inning ralley to close the gap to 6-5 before the Rattlers closed out the game, ending the Predators hopes for a rematch with TABU. A solid eam performance proving the Predators are once again one of the top teams in the country.

7/26/08: The Predators compete in 12U Major as final tune-up before heading to the USSSA Elite 24 World Series in Orlando, FL.

6/24/08: Predators bats come out blazing during the USSSA 11U California State Championship outscoring opponents 39 - 12 in first 3 pool play games. 9-2 over HB Clippers, 17-4 against Bad Company, and 13-6 against the South Gate Democrats. Apparently, Simi spent everything they had because the Tomateros brought the fireworks to an end in the Semi-Finals with a disappointing 6-1 loss.

7/13/08: Most of the kids playing SYB Pony All-Stars make a nice run before getting stopped in 10 innings by the all-star team from Agoura, which ultimately goes on to win the PONY 11 Championship.

3/30/08: The Predators playing up in the 12U division, capture the Championship at the SYB Spring Break Tournament going 4-0 with a strong effort throughout the weekend.

2/16/08: The third time is a charm as the Predators travel to Nor. Cal to play in the Super NIT President's Day Tournament to try and qualify for the Elite 24 World Series. The Predators won 4 straight pool play games and came from behind to win their Semi-Final game before dropping the Championship against TABU. Since TABU had already qualified for the Elite 24 by winning the So. Cal Super NIT MLK Tournament in Jan, the Predators earned the Nor. Cal berth to go to Orlando, FL in August. Great job boys!

1/19/08: In the second So. Cal USSSA Elite 24 World Series qualifier (Super NIT MLK Tournament) the Predators finish a disappointing 7th of 16 in pool play with a 2-1-1 record. Only the top 6 pool play finishers earned spots advancing into bracket play.

1/1/08: Predators kids travel to Arizona to play as Inside Pitch Elite again to take their 3rd straight Super Series Winter Nationals tournament in the 11U National division after going 7-0 throughout the tournament.

12/16/07: Once again playing up in the 12U SYB Christmas Classic, the Predators lost in the Semi-Finals. The experience of playing against 12U pitching is sure to pay off down the road.

11/25/07: In the first So. Cal USSSA Elite 24 World Series qualifier (Super NIT Thankgiving Tournament) the Predators started strong taking their first 2 pool play games. However, the Predators dropped their 3rd pool game to the SD Stars and got knocked out by the SGV Cobras 4-2.

10/28/07: Predators take another 2nd place finish playing up against the 12U teams at the SYB Halloween tournament after winning 3 to reach the championship game.

9/9/07: Predators place 2nd out of 7 teams at the 12U SYB Labor Day tournament after winning 3 and losing the championship game in a California Tie-Breaker. It was fun playing on the bigger 12U field at Simi Youth. Special thanks to Linden Lindsay and Dylan Alexander for filling in with our boys.

8/12/07: USSSA California State Championship runner-up in 10U major division. The Predators split their 2 pool play games beating the Cali Kings and losing to the SD Stars. A strong rebound launched them into the Semi-Finals where they beat the South Gate Democrats to give the Predators another shot at the SD Stars in the Championship game. It was a good battle but the Stars ended up holding on 6-3 for the championship.

6/23/07: Cooperstown Trip a success. The kids went 7-0 in the seeding games to capture the 5th seed and 3 bye's into the brackets. However, they met up with the same Arizona Blaze team that took a last inning home run to defeat earilier that day. This time the Blaze came out on top in a 1 run game to end the Predators hopes of winning the tournament. Coaches and kids had a blast in the bunkhouses getting a chance to build stronger relationships.

6/10/07: The drawing for the raffle was be held on June 10th at Round Table Pizza (1855 Cochran St. in Simi Valley) at 1PM. 2/23/07: All the kids are gearing up for the spring season at Simi Youth Pony Baseball in Simi Valley. It should be a great year with a ton of talent within the league. Opening day is March 3rd and the kids will play through approxiamately June 3rd.

7/31/06: Another successful year as the 9U group captures 4 tournament victories including the USSSA Winter State Championship and the Super Series Winter Nationals. They learned to competed at the next level quickly by playing up in many 10U tournaments throughout the year, winning one and finishing as runner-up in another.

8/5/05: What a summer! The season ended as the team rolled off 34 straight tournament wins on their way to capturing both the PONY/Pinto World Series and the USSSA 8U World Series.
