3/30/08: The Predators playing up in the 12U division, capture the Championship at the SYB Spring Break Tournament going 4-0 with a strong effort throughout the weekend.
2/16/08: The third time is a charm as the Predators travel to Nor. Cal to play in the Super NIT President's Day Tournament to try and qualify for the Elite 24 World Series. The Predators won 4 straight pool play games and came from behind to win their Semi-Final game before dropping the Championship against TABU. Since TABU had already qualified for the Elite 24 by winning the So. Cal Super NIT MLK Tournament in Jan, the Predators earned the Nor. Cal berth to go to Orlando, FL in August. Great job boys!
1/19/08: In the second So. Cal USSSA Elite 24 World Series qualifier (Super NIT MLK Tournament) the Predators finish a disappointing 7th of 16 in pool play with a 2-1-1 record. Only the top 6 pool play finishers earned spots advancing into bracket play.
1/1/08: Predators kids travel to Arizona to play as Inside Pitch Elite again to take their 3rd straight Super Series Winter Nationals tournament in the 11U National division after going 7-0 throughout the tournament.
12/16/07: Once again playing up in the 12U SYB Christmas Classic, the Predators lost in the Semi-Finals. The experience of playing against 12U pitching is sure to pay off down the road.
11/25/07: In the first So. Cal USSSA Elite 24 World Series qualifier (Super NIT Thankgiving Tournament) the Predators started strong taking their first 2 pool play games. However, the Predators dropped their 3rd pool game to the SD Stars and got knocked out by the SGV Cobras 4-2.
10/28/07: Predators take another 2nd place finish playing up against the 12U teams at the SYB Halloween tournament after winning 3 to reach the championship game.
9/9/07: Predators place 2nd out of 7 teams at the 12U SYB Labor Day tournament after winning 3 and losing the championship game in a California Tie-Breaker. It was fun playing on the bigger 12U field at Simi Youth. Special thanks to Linden Lindsay and Dylan Alexander for filling in with our boys.
8/12/07: USSSA California State Championship runner-up in 10U major division. The Predators split their 2 pool play games beating the Cali Kings and losing to the SD Stars. A strong rebound launched them into the Semi-Finals where they beat the South Gate Democrats to give the Predators another shot at the SD Stars in the Championship game. It was a good battle but the Stars ended up holding on 6-3 for the championship.
6/23/07: Cooperstown Trip a success. The kids went 7-0 in the seeding games to capture the 5th seed and 3 bye's into the brackets. However, they met up with the same Arizona Blaze team that took a last inning home run to defeat earilier that day. This time the Blaze came out on top in a 1 run game to end the Predators hopes of winning the tournament. Coaches and kids had a blast in the bunkhouses getting a chance to build stronger relationships.
6/10/07: The drawing for the raffle was be held on June 10th at Round Table Pizza (1855 Cochran St. in Simi Valley) at 1PM. The $2,000 grand prize winner was Erik Knudsen. 2nd Prize (signed Nomar Garciaparra bat) went to Rob Pufahl. 3rd Prize (Earrings) went to Art Kern. Thank you to everyone who helped out with buying raffle tickes.
5/1/07: The kids are going to Cooperstown this summer June 15-22. There was a late opening at Cooperstown Dreams Park and we decided to jump on the opportunity of a lifetime. We are looking for company and idividual sponsors and will be doing some last minute fundraising events including a raffle, giant yard sale, and more to help get the kids there.
2/23/07: All the kids are gearing up for the spring season at Simi Youth Pony Baseball in Simi Valley. It should be a great year with a ton of talent within the league. Opening day is March 3rd and the kids will play through approxiamately June 3rd.
Many of the Predators should represent the Simi Youth Baseball all-star team in the Pony sanctioned tournaments in July. They are setting their sights on repeating a super performance in the summer of 2005 when they won the Pony World Series in the 8U Pinto division in Garden Grove, CA.
